About

Nagendra Kolluru is an enthusiastic nature photographer with interests in natural history and birding.

His interests in nature started early in his childhood years. Attempts at photography began on birdwatching trips sometime in the mid 1990's. Over the next few years he was fortunate in finding excellent teachers and fellow photographers to share and critique his work. Gradually his subjects have evolved beyond birds to include landscapes, abstracts and wildflowers.

He lived in the midwest for several years and honed his skills in the upper midwest, the north woods of the upper penninsula of Michigan were a favorite destination for photography in spring and fall and always rich in opportunities.

He works exclusively in color and with 35 mm equipment. He began with the Canon EOS Elan series of film cameras and moved to the EOS 1N, which is one of the finest film cameras. His initial work was done with slide film and he grew to appreciate the fine grain, high quality and wonderful color characteristics of Fuji Velvia. He now uses digital SLRs, Canon 20D and the Canon 5D and an assortment of lenses.

The photographs are 'found images' and the wildlife is truly wild.

Nagendra lives in Redmond, Washington.
